Sunday at The Pines

After meeting in homes the past several months, we are moving into a new space! Join us at 4140 Tryon Rd in Longview. It’s the big red barn, decked out with all the cozy amenities and at-home feel.

We begin at 11am with our kids’ programming. Potluck lunch at 12pm followed by our gathering that includes communion, singing, teaching and discussion. We’re wrapped up around 1:45pm.

Parents, we’ve got you! Most of us have kids ranging in age from Babies - late elementary. Our dedicated kids’ time is tailored to their age with songs, a lesson, crafts, and games. We have two, paid babysitters as well to look after our youngest ones during the family gathering following lunch.

On a typical Sunday, we currently see around 60 individuals, nearly half of those being kids and teens.

Our teaching pastor is Lucas Kitchen, who has previously pastored at two churches and currently is an author and speaker. We have others in the group that teach from time to time and pass around duties of leading communion and prayer on a regular basis. We think this helps involve more voices and give fresh perspectives.

We design our gatherings to engage people from all walks of life and forge meaningful relationships.
We keep it simple. Because simple is clear and clear is understood. No microphones, stages, fancy lighting, or dress code.
Simple conversations, open discussion, and encouragement to ask questions and grow in our walk to Love God and Love People.
No matter what your background or whether you’re giving church a first (or second) chance, we value a diverse and open space where all of our spiritual histories can come together in a space tailored for belonging.
It all begins with this: Love. Maybe your faith journey has become a place of doubt. Maybe walking into a church again feels like a burden. We’ve all been here before. But we’re committed to a space where we can all show up, fully ourselves. Full of grace, listening, wonder, curiosity, and letting God work in our lives.
